· This was a benefit concert organized by KHJ-AM radio: The Sonny & Cher Appreciation concert in aid of The Braille Institute of America. The show took place in the afternoon and featured Sonny & Cher, Donovan, The Mamas & The Papas, The Righteous Brothers, Otis Redding, Jan And Dean, The Modern Folk Quintet, The Knickerbockers and The Turtles. The Braille Institue of America gave and award "To Donovan with deep appreciation from KHJ".
· Donovan played with his usual band at the time: Shawn Phillips on guitar and sitar, Bobby Ray on bass, Eddie Hoh on drums and "Candy" John Carr on bongos. |
