Out of the album:
· What's Bin Did And What's Bin Hid
Musicians:
· Donovan: vocals, acoustic guitar and mouth harp.
· Brian 'Liquorice' Locking: bass on track 1.
· Skip Alan: drums on track 1.
Trivia:
· Donovan recorded Remember The Alamo with a mix of the lyrics from the previous recordings by The Kingston Trio and Tex Ritter.
· Donovan had never visited the US but he was very interested in the American folk tradition. He removed the backing vocals and the militar atmosphere, and recorded the song only with his acoustic guitar.
· By 1966 the legal battles between his first record label, PYE Records, and his new label, Epic Records, were constant. During this time PYE Records released Josie as a single (without Donovan's consent) that failed to chart. Just two months after that, PYE Records released the Remember The Alamo single. It was quickly withdrawn from the market due to the contractual problems, and never charted. |
